Nancy Preston, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Nancy Preston is a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose empathy and compassion are aligned with her clinical insight. Dual board-certified in both Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, she is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Old Dominion University where she is on track to graduate in the spring 2027. Her commitment to lifelong learning enhances her ability to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Her enduring commitment to mental health was ignited from her time in the emergency room where there were often more mental health patients than medical patients as well as her own personal traumatic losses of loved ones, compelling her towards a heartfelt mission to help others heal. Anchored by her supportive husband, a retired Navy veteran with 30 years of service, and guided by her roles as a mother and bonus mother to two adult daughters, Nancy brings grounded empathy and deep resilience into her work fueled by love, purpose, and connection.
In her clinical practice, Nancy blends therapeutic listening with thoughtful, patient-centered medication planning honoring both emotional and physical well-being. With her intuitive “detective’s eye,” she tunes deeply into emotional nuances and personal narratives, shaping treatment plans that align with each individual’s unique journey while utilizing evidence-based practice. Serving clients across the lifespan including those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, schizophrenia, and major life transitions, she offers a nurturing space where healing is collaborative, intuitive, and empowering.
