Dr. Monique Farrington, DNP, APRN, FNP-C
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice
Dr. Monique Farrington, born and raised in the Bronx, New York, earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Old Dominion University. As the owner of Farrington Cares, P.L.L.C., she is licensed to practice in Virginia and Florida. Dr. Farrington will soon complete a post-graduate certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Liberty University; a program pursued to expand the tools in her clinical arsenal and better address the mental health needs encountered in the primary care setting. These leadership roles and professional affiliations continually shape my practice, allowing me to integrate diverse perspectives and advocate for holistic, equitable care in both primary and mental health settings.
For the past 20 years, she has been actively involved in the Hampton Roads community. Dr. Farrington is currently serving a second term as Secretary of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, while fulfilling the role of Immediate Past President of the Tidewater Chapter. She is a lifetime member of the National Black Nurses Association and the Central Florida Black Nurses Association, as well as a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Virginia Nurses Association. In her spare time, she treasures quality time with her family.
